NDIS participants are a priority group for access to COVID -19 vaccination in Australia. Vaccination against COVID-19 is particularly important for people with disability, many of whom are at greater risk of severe illness arising from a COVID-19 infection, suffering long-term impacts due to pre-existing health conditions. The COVID-19 vaccine is voluntary and free.
All NDIS participants over 12 years of age are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as are their carers and support workers. We understand that people with disability and their families are concerned about what it will mean for them when restrictions across the country ease.

- If there is a known medical history of allergic reaction, it is especially important that you seek advice from your GP or specialist medical practitioner to understand the risks and benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Clients who are taking medication should also discuss this with their GP or specialist medical practitioner prior to vaccination.
